Portraiture and Headshots 

 PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS - MODERN HEADSHOTS

 

Traditionally, headshots are taken for official business use, usually showing the head and shoulders of the subject, think LinkedIn, business cards, websites, etc. If you are serious about your career you have a professional headshot.  Modern Headshots would have been called portraits in the past.  Characteristics include a simple background, clean, bright lighting, rectangle instead of square, often more than just head and shoulders, natural expression & posing.

 

Headshot sessions are available at my studio located in Stillwater Lake, Halifax.  Alternatively, the studio can travel to you.  Headshots can be organized for a single individual or group, the more people the lower the investment per person.

Client Offices

HEADSHOTS (CLIENTS PREMISES)

  • Group Corporate Headshots (Client Premises 2 or more people, pricing refers to a single continuous session)

  • Travel and set up fee $120 for clients within HRM area - clients outside this area may be charged an additional travel fee.

  • Typically we charge

    • $150+HST per person for first three people (in a session).

    • $95+HST per person from 4 - 6

    • $85 from 7 onward.

    • Larger groups can be negotiated on a project basis.

  • Approximately 10 - 20 minutes a session p/p

  • Photos typically taken on white, grey or black background or a work based background.  Clients that require a different colour need to give the studio a heads up before the shoot in case the background needs to be ordered.   

  • On-line gallery of proofs supplied for easy selection, each participants favorite photo is edited and delivered digitally in Hi-Res for print and low res for, web.

  • Additional photographs chosen $35 per photograph

  •  $150+HST per person (group rates 2 or more people).

  •  30 - 60 minute studio session

  • Studio located at 180 Windsor Drive, Stillwater Lake, Halifax.

  • Wardrobe changes as time allows.

  • Headshot photos typically taken on white, grey or black background (other colours can be arranged)

  • On-line gallery of proofs supplied for easy selection, your favorite 2 x images are edited and can be delivered digitally in various sizes; Hi-Res for print and lower res for web.  Additional photographs chosen $35 per photograph

PORTRAITS

 

Portrait photography "aims to capture the identity, personality, and essence of a subject"  there are various types of portrait styles, I offer environmental, lifestyle and conceptual portraiture.

  •  An environmental portrait captures subjects in their natural surroundings think of an artist, politician, business person, welder each has a distinctive environment.

  • Lifestyle  - capture portraits of people in real-life events, think lifestyles of the rich and famous or an influencer life style or the stay at home dad.  There are obvious crossovers with environmental portraits. 

  • Conceptual portraits - portray an idea or concept as such there is an underlying story that is expressed within the portrait.

  • $250+HST per session 

  • 60 minute studio session

  • Studio located at 180 Windsor Drive, Stillwater Lake, Halifax.

  • Wardrobe/scenario changes as time allows.

  • Portrait photos typically taken on white, grey or black background (other colours can be arranged), 

  • On-line gallery of proofs supplied for easy selection, 5 x images included in session price.  Additional digital files ordered from the proofs are $35 (+ HST) per photograph - all images selected are professionally retouched.

ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAIT PRICING

  • $350+HST per session includes travel within HRM, travel outside of Halifax Regional Municipality will incur an additional cost.

  • Session time 90 minutes.

  • Location and Wardrobe changes as time allows.

  • On-line gallery of proofs supplied for easy selection, your 5 favorite images are included in the session price.

  • Digital files ordered from the proofs are $35 (+ HST) per image, all selected images are professionally  retouched.

  • Longer sessions - half day $500, full day $800.
